VIEWFINDERS
See climate through a new lens
The Viewfinders program highlights distinct, diverse themes, each providing their own approach to the question: what does it mean to live in a changing world?
From contemporary gems to lesser-known classics, Viewfinder events feature a dynamic selection of films that showcase the breadth of human and planetary experience.
Presented in venues across the city, these programs form a constellation of perspectives, each organized around a topic selected by individuals from a team of programmers.
OPEN CALL
Bold and innovative cinematic voices
With an open call in multiple categories—including narrative feature, documentary feature, episodic, live action short, experimental short, and animation—the Climate Film Festival offers filmmakers a unique platform to share their stories with a dedicated and engaged audience. From the pool of open call submissions, our jury will select a series of finalists for screening during the festival.
With the open call, CFF provides a platform for a new wave of climate cinema, featuring new filmmakers, emerging voices, and unforgettable films.
EVENTS
Go beyond the screen
Through panels, educational workshops, and industry showcases, CFF builds upon the films themselves to extend their impact. CFF works with local climate community organizations, filmmakers, scientists, policymakers, and writers to spur conversation and action that lasts beyond the festival.
This expanded programming is part of CFF’s mission to rewrite the narrative on climate change, transforming it from an overwhelming topic to a dialogue that can be accessed, discussed, and acted upon. These programs place environmental justice and practical solutions side-by-side with the larger questions posed by climate cinema, aiming not just to raise awareness but also to drive positive, real change.
